Public Library of Balkan region

The library of Balkan region is a regional library of Turkmenistan, located in Balkanabad city. It was opened in 2014. It is the largest library in the Balkan region. The height of the building is 45 meters. The façade is designed as an open book and can admit 600 readers. There are five reading rooms, a conference room for 125 people, computer rooms with Internet access. On the top floor there is a telescope with a lens diameter of 0.8 meters. The library complex occupies 12,150 square meters and includes a canteen, a medical center, a bookstore, the necessary utility rooms, and engineering and communications infrastructure.
