ERKANA TURKMEN is engaged in the development and implementation of projects for fish farming enterprises in recirculating aquaculture systems.
Fish holds a valuable place in human food products, being a source of complete proteins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and extractive substances. Over a period of more than 60 years, the rate of growth of food fish consumption worldwide has increased significantly.
Currently, aquaculture development and innovative methods are aimed at satisfaction local market demand or fish stocks replenishing (culture-based fisheries and sea ranching). Key innovations in aquaculture engineering include design of recirculating aquaculture systems and a wide range of engineering solutions for the production of aquaculture feeds.
The advantages of recirculating aquaculture systems are that it is possible to renounce the discharge of industrial wastewater; the manufacturer can grow an environmentally friendly high demand product; in possibility to control the composition of water - it is an opportunity to grow healthy fish, that is rare in natural reservoirs.
In practice, recirculating aquaculture systems is a tank for growing fish and a water treatment system that includes mechanical and biological cleaning, sterilization, temperature stabilization, oxygen saturation, looped into a single system. Fish farming in recirculating aquaculture systems ensures the production of marketable fish output, an increased fish stocks in natural and artificial reservoirs and an improvement in the quality of fish food products; reproduction (including conservation and compensatory fish farming) of aquatic bioresources.
